December 7, 2011 Exhibition celebrates book and book cover design
NEW YORK—December 8, 2011. Book lovers, take note: Beginning today, visitors to the AIGA National Design Center in New York will be treated to a show celebrating the most effective book and book cover designs from 2010.

For the third quarter of 2011, the index slipped from 92.27 to 86.63—the lowest measure since the second quarter of 2009. November 10, 2011 AIGA’s new case study competition helps demonstrate the value of design

NEW YORK—November 15, 2011. How do we measure the success of design’s impact? And more importantly, how can designers be equipped to describe the effectiveness of communication design? This year AIGA challenged designers to answer these questions by entering “Making the Case,” a competition awarding honors to case studies that demonstrate the value of design in a clear, compelling and accessible way.
